Hello I am a newbie part time trader (Have a 9-5 job) who does predominantly swing trades on index options. I am a relative noob (opened my demat account in end of Feb). Occasionally take stock specific swing trades if I have confidence in the trade. Predominantly trade using option strategies ( strangles/butterfly/condocredit&debit spreads) Started out pretty badly in April with big losses, gradually became profitable by June. Unfortunately suffered huge losses in the current selloff, leading to complete negation of all my gains till date (my fault, lack of emotional control made me let loss making trades run in hope of recovery). Another reason I feel is the lack of diversity in my traded underlying (predominantly indices). Hence trying to diversify to currency (USD-INR) option swing trading for that. Have been reading up on the same. From what I have understood till now, the option chain is relatively illiquid except for current week and monthly options. In addition, the USD-INR is prone to sudden big movement punctutated with period of extreme low volatility. Thus only risk defined strategies should be used. Needed guidance with regards to the following: (planned capital for use ~ 1.5-2 lakh)
Construction of monthly Iron Condors
How many lots should be done together ie size of tranch (10/20/30 lots??)
Placement of strikes ?deep otm/ ?relatively neare?based on technicals & what should be the spacing between the sold option and the bought options (the usual 3:1?,)

News/reading source - Any suggestions with regards to what should be a regular read for improving my currency derivative trades?
Is the bid-ask spread a really big issue?

Perhaps this is a question suited for an economics subreddit, but: "How did Ancient Greek cities who had no silver or gold mines have minted currency, if at all? Was the only option to melt and re-mint the currency they obtained via trade?"
The question is a bit vage, because my understanding of ancient economies is vague. I know that in the end of the day, currency has value on its own, because it is not fiat and has weight in gold or silver. But I cannot imagine the finances of a city-state that had no way to mine metal whatsoever.
